Mission: to
mobilize women to ACT BOLDLY on their faith in Jesus Christ in the areas
of Congregation, Community, Growth and Action.
All of First’s ladies
are members of WELCA and each one is welcome to meet with one of the
following small groups that is convenient for her:
RUTH CIRCLE
– meets the 2nd Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Makes and repairs the
church banners. Sends birthday cards to senior members, sympathy cards
to those who have lost loved ones, and other greeting cards for special
occasions.
PRISCILLA CIRCLE
– meets the 4th Monday at 6:30 p.m. In addition to special
caring and sharing for their circle members, they shop and donate needed
items to local shelters. Shopping trips always followed by Ice Cream.
No formal programs.
REBEKAH CIRCLE
– meets the 3rd Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Purchases and
assembles items needed for local charitable organizations and special
Synod outreach programs. Has discussions on selected topics and
occasional speakers. Lunch often follows meeting.
MARY MARTHA
CIRCLE – meets the 2nd Monday at 10:00 a.m. to work
on their sewing projects such as small quilts, lap robes, and clothing
protectors. Light lunch follows.
At quarterly General
Meetings circles come together for a business meeting, program, and
food, fun, and fellowship. This meeting is coordinated by one of the
circles. WELCA also sponsors an Easter Breakfast and a Mother/Daughter
Banquet.
